In 2020, Gerando Falcões has played a unique social responsibility role in the fight against Covid-19. The NGO has been collecting donations through the “CAMPANHA NO PAREDÃO FOME NÃO” campaign and delivering, through a network of partner NGOs, digital food baskets to the most vulnerable families in Brazilian communities.
A family with five people consumes one food basket every 15 days. The NGO has been delivering an equivalent of 6 digital food baskets per family (pre-approved debit cards to purchase hygiene and food items) thus guaranteeing their basic needs during the 3 most critical months of the Covid-19 crisis.
Faced with the responsibility of fighting the pandemic, partners and employees gathered in a solidarity network effort to donate to the Gerando Falcões NGO. The goal is to support families with their basic needs so that they do not desperately need to search for work and increase their chances of getting infected with the virus, in addition to spreading the virus within their communities.
In just a few months since the start of the campaign, Gerando Falcões has helped more than 35,000 families and 178,000 individuals.
