G5 Partners implemented the G5 Talks project in 2020, in which business and community leaders discuss relevant issues and other general topics of interest with our employees. The goal is to foster and broaden the curiosity, learning and development of our professionals.
At the first talk, held in early March, our guest was Dr. Cylon Gonçalves Silva, Professor Emeritus at UNICAMP (University of Campinas). Professor Cylon is a physicist and one of the leading scientific references in Brazil, with extensive academic production on topics mainly related to the magnetic and electronic properties of materials, and semi-magnetic semiconductor super nets.
During the talk, Professor Cylon addressed the global warming theme and introduced the En-Roads Simulator, developed by MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). The simulator is a free tool that allows the general public to better understand and assess the relationship between economic development and its impacts on the planet’s climate. The event allowed us to have a very interesting and enlightening conversation.
“We need to change the way we live in order for us to have a more sustainable world. Knowledge is the tool; wisdom is knowing how to use the tool”, Professor Cylon Silva.
