Gabriel Braga, one of the founding partners and CEO of QuintoAndar, participated in the G5 Talks at the end of May 2020. He spoke with Corrado Varoli, founding partner and CEO of G5 Partners, and senior partner Levindo Santos.
G5 Talks is a project in which business and community leaders exchange learning experiences with G5 Partners’ team.
During the conversation, Gabriel Braga spoke about his entrepreneurial journey, from the very beginning of the project to its current situation, and also discussed his views on the transformations underway in the real estate market, in addition to the recent impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic in the real estate market in general.
Gabriel recalled the start of QuintoAndar, which was launched soon after his arrival from an MBA at Stanford, California. After many hard years with restricted cash availability, Gabriel and André Penha, the other founding partner, finally got the startup to take off and become recognized as a digital entrepreneurship icon in Latin America.
“What I learned from this experience is that you need to have more passion for the problems than for the solutions. Throughout this journey, I aimed to have conviction and determination in one hand and humility in the other. This was essential for me to adapt to the challenges and not give up along the way”, he stated.
During the conservation, Gabriel also discussed how he reinvented himself and how he learned in the process in order to grow with the company and become qualified to manage a relevant business structure. “Today, it is impossible to monitor everything closely. It is like a pilot in an airplane with flight instruments, you start to manage the company by sections”.
